EDUCATION

Christian Education opportunities abound at The Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. On Sunday mornings Christian education classes are held for all ages. There are currently five class offerings for children grade five and below, two youth classes and four adult classes.

YOUNG CHILDREN

We care about families with young children and offer loving care to our little ones. Infants are cared for in our nursery area which includes a sleeping and nursing mother room, a play area for toddlers and a bathroom designed just for our precious small children. Nursery care is provided during the Sunday School hour and during worship.

ELEMENTARY AGE CHILDREN

School age children will find Sunday School to be a place where hands on experiences, reading God's word, assisting with Sunday School opening and participation opportunities allow them to learn God's Word and develop leadership skills. Classes are held for children in two year age increments with each class being led by a team of teachers who seek to instruct children in God's truth in a way that is exciting.

YOUTH

All youth grades 6 through 12 are encouraged to participate in our Youth Choir. In addition, two Sunday School classes and two youth fellowships exist for opportunities to be with peers and to discover God's impact on life.

Youth in grades 6 through 8 meet for Sunday School each week as a place where students can discuss Bible stories, peer relationships and spiritual development with a teaching staff of parents who "have been there" with children of their own.

Youth in grades 9 through 12 also meet weekly for Sunday School to study God's Word on topics relative to teen life. Group sharing and spiritual encouragement describe this class' method.

ADULTS

Two adult Sunday School classes meet weekly:

The Elective class is for adults of all ages and is a topic oriented, discussion class. Class members share insights for the benefit of and the spiritual growth of all class members. The class is currently studying the Purpose Driven Life

The International Class is structured for those who prefer the more traditional adult class. The International Lesson curriculum is used which allows a more methodical approach to studying all of God's Word.
